 Dennis P. Stahr, Founder and CEO of Investment Reference, Inc. I was raised and attended school in the Midwest, but received my degree in business while in San Diego. When I started Investment Reference, I had been trading futures for several years. I previously worked for two commodities firms, and was working for a regional securities firm. Although I still hold the series 4, 7, 24, and 63 securities licenses, I find my heart remains in the futures industry, and now forex. I held several public workshops, and made many guest lecturing appearances at National University, San Diego City College, as well as on radio and television. One of the recurring themes of the lectures and programs seemed to involve discussions about risk, compliance issues, and the knowledge, or lack thereof, of the Representatives in the industry. It was as a result of these appearances that I got involved in teaching and consulting on compliance matters. After setting up several IBs and Branch offices on a consulting basis, I took a position with a Broker Dealer as the Branch Office Manager for their futures division, as well as the Director of Compliance for their securities division. In 1994 I moved to New York on a one year contract to work as the Vice President, Compliance with a national FCM. I can assure you that we at Investment Reference are here to serve you in the same friendly and competent manner that we have over the past 24 years. Recently because of rapid growth in the number of new investors interested in the futures and options markets, Investment Reference recognized the need for more "down-to-earth" (without the hype) information on how to get started and be able to continue trading in these very exciting markets. We are therefore working to develop several informational investor products for the novice and Professional alike. Our initial products will be designed for the new investor since getting started on the right foot and with the right attitude is a very important part of the preparation for trading these markets.
